PATTAYA, 18 September 2026 — A 17-year-old Thai boy died after falling from the 11th floor of an apartment building in Pattaya’s Soi Pratumnak 6 on September 17, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

Pattaya police were alerted at about 5:35 p.m. to an incident behind an apartment building in Chon Buri. The teenager was found dead after falling from room 1131 on the 11th floor.

Police Captain Pakorn Prakopnan, an investigating officer at Pattaya City Police Station, attended the scene with police officers and rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Foundation. Officers cordoned off the area as a large crowd gathered.

Investigators learned that the teenager had been staying in the adjacent room, 1130. Police believe he entered the unoccupied room 1131 shortly before the fatal fall.

Police and investigators examined the scene and are reviewing CCTV footage to establish exactly what happened. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the teenager accidentally fell or deliberately jumped.

His body was taken to hospital for safekeeping and will undergo a post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death.

Mother Says Son Had Been Under Stress

The teenager’s 46-year-old mother arrived at the scene in deep distress and told police that her son had recently been under stress after losing his job.

She also said he may have been upset with her following a minor incident the previous night.

According to the mother, she had been feeling unwell while her son was playing games. He later went to the bathroom and closed the door loudly. She said she simply asked him to close it more quietly and that there had been no argument between them.

She told police she had not expected the incident to have such a serious impact on her son.

Police are continuing to gather evidence, including CCTV footage and forensic findings, before determining the circumstances of the teenager’s death.
