Cambodia to host Vietnam–Laos–Cambodia party chiefs meeting
PHNOM PENH, Feb. 2, 2026 — To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, will pay a state visit to Cambodia on Feb. 6, his first overseas trip since re-election, Cambodian and Vietnamese party sources said.
The visit will take place at the invitation of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party.
During the visit, To Lam will co-chair a meeting of the ruling party chiefs of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, alongside Hun Sen and the Lao party leader, marking a rare trilateral party-level engagement among the three neighbouring countries.
The trip underscores Hanoi’s stated priority on relations with neighbouring states and is expected to focus on political coordination, regional stability and strengthening long-standing ties among the three Indochinese nations.
