PHNOM PENH, Feb. 10, 2026 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said on Tuesday that his government would continue efforts to resolve border disputes with Thailand through international legal mechanisms and would not recognise any attempt to alter borders by force.

Hun Manet said differing views persist over the Cambodia–Thailand border, but stressed that the government has been working continuously to address the issue, even if such efforts are not always made public through regular briefings or press conferences.

“All decisions are taken with full responsibility and careful assessment,” he said, adding that the government must weigh territorial integrity, public safety and the welfare of security forces simultaneously, leaving limited room for multiple policy options.

Speaking at a meeting with top-performing high school and technical students in Phnom Penh, Hun Manet said the Cambodia–Thailand boundary is an international border and must therefore be handled through international law.

He emphasised that a peaceful and legal approach was essential to achieving a lasting solution and ensuring a stable and peaceful border for future generations, calling on the public to understand and support the government’s efforts.
