PHNOM PENH, May 3, 2026 — Troops from India’s army have arrived in Cambodia to take part in a joint military exercise aimed at strengthening defence cooperation and operational coordination between the two countries, officials said.

Around 120 personnel from the Indian Army arrived on Saturday to participate in the bilateral exercise “CINBAX-II” with the Royal Cambodian Army.

The 15-day exercise will run from May 3 to May 18 at the Techo Sen Phnom Thom Training Base in Kampong Speu province.

The drill will focus on counter-terrorism operations and disaster relief, combining command post exercises with field training to enhance joint operational capabilities.

Officials said the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to deepen military ties and improve coordination between the two countries’ armed forces.

CINBAX-II marks the second edition of the joint exercise, following the first drill held in India in 2024.
