PARIS, 1 July 2026 — Cambodia has declared it is fully prepared to host the 20th Francophonie Summit in November and pledged to ensure the event is held smoothly and successfully, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn said.

Speaking at the 47th Extraordinary Ministerial Conference of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) in Paris on June 30, Prak Sokhonn reaffirmed Cambodia’s readiness to welcome international delegations and provide warm hospitality during the summit, which is scheduled for Nov. 15-16, 2026.

He said Cambodia remained firmly committed to working closely with all partners to ensure the summit, described as a historic event for the country, delivers meaningful outcomes and is successfully organised.

The ministerial conference also featured presentations and question-and-answer sessions by candidates seeking to become the next OIF secretary-general, followed by closed-door discussions among ministers and delegation heads to formulate recommendations for their respective heads of state and government.

The 20th Francophonie Summit will be held under the theme “Committed to Peace for Shared Prosperity and Sustainable Stability” and is expected to bring together representatives from 53 member states. French President Emmanuel Macron is also expected to attend the summit in Cambodia.
