Bangkok, 13 December 2025 — Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul stated on Saturday that the call for a ceasefire to take effect at 10:00 p.m. tonight, as announced by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, may have been the result of a misunderstanding.

According to Khaosod English, Thailand local media, Prime Minister Anutin emphasized that intensive communications are currently ongoing among relevant parties and urged the public and observers to await an official clarification from the military authorities.

“At this moment, there are no ceasefire negotiations, and it is not yet the time for that,” Prime Minister Anutin said, underscoring that the situation remains under active assessment.

His remarks came in response to Prime Minister Anwar’s earlier public appeal for Cambodia and Thailand to halt hostilities at 10:00 p.m., highlighting a divergence in public messaging amid heightened regional diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions.

The statement signals continued uncertainty surrounding ceasefire arrangements, even as international and regional actors intensify diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation along the border.
