Belarus Eyes Tractor Investment, Direct Flights With Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, June 22, 2026 – Belarus is interested in investing in Cambodia’s agricultural machinery sector and establishing direct flights between the two countries to boost tourism and trade, Belarusian Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou said during a meeting with Cambodia’s acting head of state Hun Sen on Saturday.

According to Cambodian officials, Baravikou said Belarus sees potential for investing in tractor manufacturing and supply to support Cambodia’s agricultural sector as the two countries seek to strengthen economic and trade ties.

The ambassador also proposed launching direct flights between Belarus and Cambodia to facilitate tourism, business exchanges and people-to-people links.

He said Belarus was also interested in expanding educational cooperation by increasing scholarships and student exchanges between the two countries.

Hun Sen welcomed efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and expressed hope that Baravikou’s diplomatic mission would further deepen cooperation between Cambodia and Belarus.

Hun Sen also called for expanded cooperation in defence and other sectors to strengthen bilateral ties further, according to the Cambodian side.
