BREAKING: 3rd Special Thai–Cambodian GBC Meeting Kicks off at Pailin–Chanthaburi Border Natthaphon Narkphanit - TEA Seiha

Pailin–Chanthaburi Border, 27 December 2025 — The third Special Meeting of the Thai–Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) since the outbreak of armed conflict between the two countries formally opened today at the Pailin–Chanthaburi border checkpoint, underscoring renewed diplomatic efforts to restore peace and stability along the shared frontier.

The meeting is co-chaired by General Natthaphon Narkphanit, Secretary-General of Thailand’s National Security Council, and General TEA Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Officials confirmed that the secretary-level session of the GBC has already concluded, resulting in the formulation of a sixth revised draft agreement, reflecting intensive negotiations aimed at de-escalation, confidence-building, and the implementation of existing ceasefire commitments.

This high-level engagement is widely viewed as a critical opportunity to halt hostilities and re-establish peaceful relations between Cambodia and Thailand, with regional and international stakeholders closely monitoring the outcome as part of broader efforts to safeguard regional peace and security.
