Cambodia achieves double-digit rise in exports to EU, ASEAN
PHNOM PENH, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — Cambodia recorded a double-digit growth of exports to the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the first eight months of 2025, said an official report on Tuesday.
Compiled by the Ministry of Commerce, the report showed that the Southeast Asian country exported products worth 3.36 billion U.S. dollars to the EU market during the January-August period this year, up over 15 percent from 2.9 billion dollars over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the kingdom shipped goods worth 3.98 billion dollars to its fellow ASEAN member states, up 16 percent from 3.43 billion dollars, the report added.
The EU market accounted for 16.1 percent and the ASEAN market represented 19.1 percent of the kingdom’s total export volume of 20.83 billion dollars in the first eight months this year, according to the report.
“Main products Cambodia exported to the EU were apparel, textiles, shoes, travel goods, bags, bicycles, car tires, and some electronic devices as well as potential agricultural produce such as rice, cashew nuts, cassava starch, and bananas,” Ministry of Commerce’s Secretary of State and Spokesperson Penn Sovicheat told Xinhua.
He added that the main goods the country exported to ASEAN included garments, shoes, travel goods, bags, car tires, electronics, and agricultural commodities.
