Cambodia, Brazil Discuss Trade, Investment and Regional Issues
PHNOM PENH, March 19 — Cambodia and Brazil have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, officials said following high-level talks in Phnom Penh on Thursday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn met Brazil’s Secretary for Asia and the Pacific, Susan Kleebank, during her working visit to Cambodia, where both sides co-chaired the Second Cambodia–Brazil Bilateral Consultations.
The two officials expressed satisfaction with the positive progress in bilateral relations and pledged to deepen cooperation in key areas including trade and investment, education, tourism, environment and agriculture.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border, as well as broader global issues of mutual interest.
The meeting reflects growing engagement between Cambodia and Latin America’s largest economy, as Phnom Penh seeks to diversify its diplomatic and economic partnerships beyond traditional partners in Asia.
Officials said both sides are committed to expanding practical cooperation and enhancing diplomatic ties in the coming years.
