PHNOM PENH, March 6, 2026 — Cambodia’s Minister of Post and Telecommunications Chea Vandeth met with a delegation from the EU-ASEAN Business Council on Thursday to discuss digital economy cooperation and investment opportunities.

The delegation was led by Sharon Toh, the council’s ASEAN regional lead, during talks held at the ministry in Phnom Penh.

Chea Vandeth outlined progress in Cambodia’s digital transformation, including initiatives to develop digital skills, strengthen technology awareness and expand digital government services.

He highlighted key platforms introduced by the Cambodian government, including the VERIFY.GOV.KH document verification system and the DG SuperApp, part of efforts to modernize public administration and digital services.

Toh praised Cambodia’s achievements in digital government reforms and expressed interest in expanding cooperation between European businesses and Cambodia’s digital sector.

Both sides also exchanged views on the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement and regulatory processes for businesses operating in sectors under the ministry’s jurisdiction.

Cambodian officials said the discussions aim to strengthen investor confidence and encourage more European companies to invest in Cambodia’s growing digital economy.
