PHNOM PENH, Jan 25, 2026 — Cambodia and Laos have signed an agreement to facilitate the cross-border transportation of agricultural products through Laos, opening an additional export route for Cambodian farm produce, particularly to the China, Cambodia’s agriculture minister said on Sunday.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, said he and Linkham Douangsavanh, Laos’ Minister of Agriculture and Environment, witnessed the signing of the agreement between the two ministries.

The agreement covers the transit of Cambodian agricultural products through Laos and is expected to create a new logistics corridor to expand Cambodia’s agricultural exports, with a focus on access to the Chinese market.

Dith Tina said the deal marked an important step in strengthening and expanding Cambodia–Laos agricultural cooperation. He added that the partnership could be broadened in the future to other sectors with strong potential, including agricultural inputs, forestry and deeper integration of agricultural market connectivity.

Cambodia has been seeking to diversify export routes and reduce logistical bottlenecks for its agricultural sector as part of broader efforts to boost regional trade and improve access to major markets.
