Phnom Penh, 3 December 2025 — The Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia announced that the Royal Government has officially approved a pilot visa-exemption scheme for Chinese tourists, reaffirming Cambodia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral tourism cooperation and economic partnership with China.

Endorsed by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the initiative was proposed by the Ministry of Tourism within the Tourism Working Group (Group “B”) and supported by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Under this pilot program, Chinese nationals traveling directly from China will enjoy visa-free entry into Cambodia for a 14-day stay during the four-month implementation period, from 15 June to 15 October 2026. Travelers will not be required to submit visa applications or pay any related fees, and entry will be facilitated solely through the mandatory E-arrival card. Multiple entries within the period will be permitted.

The Ministry of Tourism emphasized that this decision reflects Cambodia’s strong commitment to deepening tourism cooperation with China, boosting connectivity, and enhancing economic growth driven by tourism recovery and expansion.

The Ministry calls upon tourism associations, private sector operators, media outlets, and all relevant stakeholders to cooperate responsibly and actively disseminate the announcement to ensure smooth and successful implementation. The Ministry further encourages broad promotional efforts to attract a significant increase in Chinese tourist arrivals during this pilot phase.
