Cambodia Pledges to Eliminate Scam Centers by April 2026
PHNOM PENH, March 5, 2026 — Cambodia is offering attractive incentives to global investors, including tax exemptions of up to 15 years for priority sectors, Prime Minister Hun Manet said on Wednesday as the government seeks to strengthen the country’s position as a regional investment hub.
Speaking at the ASEAN–Cambodia Business Summit 2026 in Phnom Penh, Hun Manet said Cambodia’s appeal to investors rests on political stability, macroeconomic resilience, broad market access and a reform-oriented legal framework.
The government has also adopted a tougher policy toward online scam centers, shifting from containment measures to a strategy aimed at completely eliminating such operations by April 2026, he said.
Hun Manet said Cambodia continues to implement business-friendly reforms designed to support investment and economic growth, offering competitive incentives and a predictable regulatory environment.
The prime minister said Cambodia’s strategic location in Southeast Asia, along with strong legal protections and economic stability, provides favorable conditions for international companies and investors seeking to expand in the region.
