Cambodia Praises Vietnam’s 8% Growth in New Year Message
Phnom Penh, Feb. 15, 2026 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has extended Lunar New Year greetings to Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, congratulating Vietnam on its strong economic performance and reaffirming close bilateral ties.
In a letter dated Feb. 15 marking the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse, Hun Manet congratulated Vietnam on achieving economic growth of more than 8% last year and expressed support for Hanoi’s goals of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income, industrialized nation by 2045.
He also welcomed the recent state visit to Cambodia by Tô Lâm, describing discussions as reaffirming both sides’ commitment to expanding comprehensive cooperation.
Hun Manet said Cambodia and Vietnam would continue strengthening ties in the spirit of good neighborliness, traditional friendship and long-term stability.
Cambodia and Vietnam maintain close political and economic relations, with cross-border trade, investment and security cooperation forming key pillars of bilateral engagement.
