PHNOM PENH, March 5, 2026 — Cambodia is preparing to host a large “Francophone Village” cultural event in Phnom Penh as part of activities surrounding the 20th Francophonie Summit, scheduled for November 2026.

The Ministry of Tourism said the event will feature more than 100 participating countries, organizations and institutions, each showcasing their culture, tourism and activities through exhibition pavilions.

Cambodian officials, including Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Women’s Affairs Minister Ing Kantha Phavi, joined Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie, in inspecting potential venues in Phnom Penh for the event.

The Francophone Village will serve as one of the main side events of the summit, offering exhibitions, cultural displays and roundtable discussions among member states of the French-speaking community.

Another key event planned alongside the summit is “Francotech,” a business forum aimed at connecting entrepreneurs and companies from Francophone countries.

Cambodia will host the 20th Francophonie Summit in Phnom Penh in November 2026, bringing together leaders and representatives from countries and organizations within the global French-speaking community.
