PHNOM PENH, Jan 15, 2026 — Cambodia has approved a new livery for its national airline, featuring a redesigned emblem inspired by the Giant Ibis, a national bird symbolising protection, strength and responsibility, according to an official announcement on Wednesday.

The new aircraft design places the Giant Ibis at the core of the airline’s visual identity, reflecting Cambodia’s national values and cultural heritage. The colour scheme is based on three primary colours — blue, red and white — representing the Cambodian national flag.

According to the announcement, the Giant Ibis’s wings have been stylised to resemble aircraft engines during flight, incorporating 18 air-intake elements, symbolising technological stability, safety and progress in aviation.

The redesign was formally approved by the Royal Government of Cambodia on Nov. 7, 2025, underscoring the growing role of the national airline in promoting Cambodia’s identity on the global stage.

Officials said the new branding also reflects the broader development of civil aviation, tourism, trade and cultural exchange, positioning air transport as a key driver of economic and people-to-people connectivity in the Kingdom.

The new livery will be introduced on a brand-new ATR 72-600 aircraft, recently delivered from the manufacturer in France, marking the first aircraft to carry the updated national design.
