Phnom Penh, 5 December 2025 — The Ministry of National Defence announced today that the Cambodia Liaison Group (CLG) facilitated a comprehensive briefing for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) on the continued progress of joint border demarcation efforts between Cambodia and Thailand along the Kamrieng sector of Battambang Province.

At 9:30 a.m., the AOT received a detailed presentation from Mr. Prum Soeun Vathna, Head of the Cambodia–Thailand Joint Survey Team of the State Secretariat for Border Affairs, outlining the latest developments in surveying and marking the temporary border line between Border Posts No. 52–59, located in Kamrieng Commune and Boeung Raing Commune, Kamrieng District, Battambang Province. The briefing took place at Team Site 2 in Serei Saophoan City, Banteay Meanchey Province.

According to officials from the State Secretariat of Border Affairs, the Joint Survey Teams of both countries have made substantial progress. On the evening of 3 December, the teams submitted to the AOT a status report on survey operations conducted opposite Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province.

From 27 November to 3 December 2025, both sides carried out aerial drone photography to produce a high-resolution photomap of the border area between Posts No. 52–59, covering approximately 6.4 kilometres, representing 76% completion of this phase of work.

Earlier, from 8 to 26 November 2025, the Joint Survey Teams conducted ground-based surveys along an 8.3-kilometre stretch of the same border sector. This effort resulted in the successful emplacement of 166 temporary border markers, reflecting steady and coordinated technical progress on the ground.

The Ministry emphasises that these developments underscore the commitment of the Kingdom of Cambodia to advancing peaceful, transparent, and technically sound border demarcation in cooperation with Thailand and with ASEAN oversight.

The public, along with national and international media outlets, is advised to take note of the above information.
