Cambodian’s National Assembly condemns immoral and deplorable acts against President of the Senate
Phnom Penh, October 8, 2025 — The National Assembly of Cambodia has issued a statement expressing its deepest regret and strongest condemnation of the immoral, indecent, and inhumane acts committed by certain Thai individuals who recently attacked Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State and President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, as well as other Cambodian dignitaries.
According to the statement, such behavior constitutes a serious insult to human dignity, moral values, mutual respect, and the spirit of friendship and peaceful coexistence between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Kingdom of Thailand — as neighboring countries and members of ASEAN and the international community.
The National Assembly highly values Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s wise, composed, and statesmanlike response on October 6, 2025, which demonstrated his high moral integrity, sense of responsibility, and spirit of reconciliation. His reaction, characterized by patience, understanding, and forgiveness toward all nations, reflects his unwavering commitment to unity, peace, and human dignity.
Despite the deliberate and unethical provocations, Samdech Techo continued to call on all Cambodians to remain calm, respond with dignity, uphold national unity and patience, and to continue strengthening Cambodia’s economic and financial sovereignty by promoting the use of the national currency and enhancing economic resilience through reduced external dependency.
The National Assembly further observed that such unethical and insulting behavior against Cambodian leadership by a small group of ill-intentioned individuals has continued openly and without consequence. Therefore, the National Assembly of Cambodia calls upon the Government of Thailand to take immediate and effective measures to prevent and halt these indecent acts, in a manner befitting a civilized and dignified nation that upholds moral responsibility and good neighborliness.
