China Provides RMB 20 Million in Emergency Aid to Cambodia, Supports Ceasefire and Regional Peace
Phnom Penh, 28 December 2025 — The People’s Republic of China has announced the provision of RMB 20 million worth of emergency humanitarian assistance to the Royal Government of Cambodia to support civilians displaced by the recent Cambodia–Thailand border conflict, according to statements by H.E. Wang Wenbin, Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The first batch of Chinese aid arrived in Cambodia today, comprising essential relief supplies including tents, blankets, and food, aimed at alleviating humanitarian needs, improving living conditions, and assisting affected communities in overcoming current hardships.
Ambassador Wang underscored that China was the first country to extend assistance to Cambodia following the outbreak of the conflict and remains the largest provider of aid, reflecting the deep-rooted friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Cambodia.
Reaffirming China’s commitment to regional peace, Ambassador Wang emphasized that peace is the shared aspiration of the Cambodian and Thai peoples, as well as China’s unwavering pursuit. He noted that Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi is currently holding meetings with the foreign ministers of Cambodia and Thailand in Yunnan Province, with the participation of military representatives from all three countries.
China welcomes the ceasefire announced by Cambodia and Thailand and reiterated its readiness to play a positive and constructive role in consolidating the ceasefire, rebuilding mutual trust, and fostering lasting peace and stability in the region.
