Phnom Penh, 27 December 2025 — The European Union has welcomed the ceasefire agreement signed today by Cambodia and Thailand, urging both sides to implement the accord in good faith and reaffirming its readiness to provide support toward sustaining peace and stability along the shared border.

In a statement issued by Mr. Anouar El Anouni, Spokesperson for the European Union’s Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, the EU commended the constructive role played by ASEAN in facilitating the agreement, underscoring the importance of regional mechanisms in advancing peaceful conflict resolution.

“The EU welcomes the ceasefire agreement signed today by Cambodia and Thailand and calls on both sides to implement it in good faith,” the statement said, while expressing appreciation to ASEAN for its positive contribution to the outcome.

The European Union further affirmed that it stands ready to provide any support needed, signaling continued international engagement in efforts to consolidate the ceasefire, prevent renewed hostilities, and promote lasting peace through dialogue and diplomacy.

The EU’s position adds to growing international support for the ceasefire, reinforcing calls for restraint, compliance with international law, and sustained cooperation to ensure stability in Southeast Asia.
