Foreign Man Found Dead Hanging on Koh Larn
PATTAYA, May 3, 2026 — A 56-year-old foreign national was found dead hanging from a tree near Nual Beach on Koh Larn, off Pattaya, on Saturday morning, police said.
Officers were alerted at around 10:00 a.m. and arrived at the scene with forensic teams, medical personnel and rescue workers. The man, identified only as Joseph, was found suspended from a neem tree with a nylon rope tied around his neck.
Authorities said the body had a wound on the left side of the forehead and is believed to have been at the scene for three to five hours before discovery.
A nearby backpack containing medication for heart disease and hypertension was recovered as evidence. The area is a quiet plot of land close to a construction site.
A construction supervisor who found the body said he initially mistook it for a mannequin before realising it was a person and alerting authorities. Witnesses reported seeing the man sitting at a pavilion near the site the previous evening.
Police said initial findings suggest the man may have been under stress linked to underlying health conditions, but stressed that the cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, while investigators work to contact relatives and establish the man’s background. Authorities said there were no immediate signs of foul play, though investigations remain ongoing.
