Francophonie Chief to Visit Cambodia Ahead of 2026 Summit Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF)

PHNOM PENH, Feb 28, 2026 — The Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), Louise Mushikiwabo, will pay a working visit to Cambodia from March 1 to 4 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, the Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

During the visit, Mushikiwabo is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on Senate President Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet and First Vice-President of the National Assembly Cheam Yeap.

She will also hold talks with Prak Sokhonn to review preparations for the 20th Francophonie Summit, which Cambodia will host in Phnom Penh on Nov. 15–16, 2026.

The ministry said the visit underscores the joint commitment of Cambodia and the OIF to strengthen cooperation and enhance the role of the Francophone community in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

Cambodia is set to host the Francophonie Summit for the first time, marking a significant diplomatic milestone for the Southeast Asian nation.
