PM Hun Manet Reaffirms Phnom Penh International Airport as State Property and National Heritage
Phnom Penh, October 20, 2025 — Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has firmly reaffirmed that Phnom Penh International Airport will never be sold, emphasizing its status as a national asset belonging to the state.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly opened Techo International Airport, Samdech Thipadei declared, “Phnom Penh International Airport will never be sold! It is state property, a reserve site for emergency landings, a public park, and a museum!”
His statement underscores the Royal Government’s steadfast commitment to preserving the airport as part of Cambodia’s national heritage, serving both practical and historical purposes for future generations.
The Prime Minister’s remarks also reflect the government’s broader vision to ensure that national infrastructure remains under Cambodian ownership, contributing to sustainable development, public service, and national pride.
