Hun Manet Sends Lunar New Year Message to China’s Xi Jinping
Phnom Penh, Feb. 15, 2026 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has extended Lunar New Year greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping, reaffirming what he described as the “iron-clad friendship” and “diamond cooperation” between the two countries.
In a letter dated Feb. 15 marking the 2026 Chinese Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse, Hun Manet highlighted close political trust, economic cooperation and cultural exchanges between Cambodia and China.
He expressed confidence that both nations would seize new opportunities to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership and advance what he called an “All-Weather Cambodia–China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.”
Hun Manet also thanked Beijing for its continued support and assistance, saying China’s contributions have played a significant role in Cambodia’s socio-economic development.
China is Cambodia’s largest trading partner and a major source of investment, infrastructure financing and development assistance, with ties between the two countries deepening in recent years across political, economic and security sectors.
