Malaysia Confirms Diplomatic Engagements to Ease Cambodia–Thailand Border Tensions
Kuala Lumpur, 10 December 2025 — Malaysian Prime Minister H.E. Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that he has been in direct contact with the Prime Ministers of Cambodia and Thailand to address the recent unrest along their shared border, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and regional stability.
In a statement released moments ago, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim commended the openness and constructive spirit demonstrated by both leaders, noting their shared willingness to continue negotiations in order to defuse tensions and prevent misunderstandings that could further aggravate the situation.
Although no definitive agreement has yet been reached, he underscored that ongoing diplomatic efforts have succeeded in preventing more serious incidents during this critical period.
Malaysia reaffirmed its strong commitment to supporting peaceful dialogue, solutions grounded in international law, and strengthened regional cooperation, in line with ASEAN principles, to preserve the stability, safety, and security of the region.
Malaysia will continue to stand ready to facilitate diplomatic initiatives and confidence-building measures between the two neighboring countries.
