Multiple Thai Women Accuse ‘Uncle Sanom’ of Sexual Abuse
Bangkok, Feb. 14, 2026 — Thai police are investigating allegations that a ritual practitioner known as “Uncle Sanom” sexually abused multiple women during cleansing ceremonies held at a temple in central Thailand, authorities said.
Officers from the Central Investigation Bureau said they are collecting evidence after two women filed complaints in Bangkok with the assistance of activist Jeeraphan “Doctor Pla” Phetchkhao.
Preliminary findings indicate that between nine and ten women may have been affected, police said.
One 44-year-old complainant told investigators she sought the practitioner’s services in March 2025 amid personal family distress. She alleged she was instructed to undress and was subjected to invasive acts during the ritual, saying she complied out of fear.
Authorities are considering potential charges including indecent acts and fraud. They are also reviewing activities linked to ceremonies conducted at Wat Khian in Ang Thong province.
Police urged additional potential victims to come forward as the investigation continues. No charges have yet been formally announced.
