Pattaya Raid Targets Suspected ‘Happy Water’ Drug Lab
Pattaya, Feb. 14, 2026 — Thai authorities have arrested two Chinese nationals after raiding a luxury villa in Pattaya where investigators believe precursor chemicals for synthetic drugs were being produced, officials said.
The operation, led by the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) Region 2 alongside immigration and tourist police, was launched after local officials received reports of chemical waste being discharged into a nearby stream.
Officers detained Xu Yunlong, 42, and Xu Tianking, 32, after they allegedly attempted to flee. Xu Yunlong sustained a leg injury during the arrest.
Inside the property, police found three chemical production stations and large quantities of substances. Preliminary on-site tests indicated the presence of methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA, authorities said.
Investigators suspect the site was producing precursors for synthetic drugs known locally as “Happy Water” — a liquid cocktail combining multiple narcotics — and “Pod K,” vape liquids laced with ketamine.

Both suspects denied knowledge of drug activity, claiming they were hired as caretakers. Immigration records show they entered Thailand earlier this month on tourist visas.
Police are preparing charges related to the production and possession of Category 1 and Category 2 narcotics. Investigations are ongoing to trace supply chains and possible distribution networks.
