The briefing was attended by 33 diplomatic missions and international organizations, comprising 55 participants, underscoring the strong interest of the international community in the maintenance of peace and stability along the border.

During the briefing, the Deputy Prime Minister outlined the key outcomes of the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Kuala Lumpur on 22 December 2025, the 3rd Special Meeting of the General Border Committee on 27 December 2025, and the Cambodia–Thailand–China Trilateral Meeting convened in Yunnan Province on 29 December 2025, all of which aimed to promote the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand.

His Excellency expressed deep concern over the resumed encroachment activities by Thai armed forces within Cambodia’s territory and sovereignty, particularly in the provinces of Banteay Meanchey, Pursat, Preah Vihear, and Oddar Meanchey.

Reiterating Cambodia’s principled position, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia remains fully committed to upholding the ceasefire and to resolving all border-related issues through peaceful means, in strict accordance with international law, the Charter of the United Nations, the ASEAN Charter, and all existing bilateral agreements between Cambodia and Thailand.

The briefing concluded with Cambodia’s call for continued international attention and support to ensure restraint, dialogue, and the faithful implementation of agreed mechanisms to preserve peace, stability, and security along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
