Phnom Penh Says Cambodia Remains Stable and Safe for Tourists
PHNOM PENH, March 11, 2026 — Cambodia remains a safe and welcoming destination for international travelers despite growing global challenges, the country’s Ministry of Tourism said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the ministry said Cambodia continues to maintain political stability, social order and public safety, ensuring secure travel for visitors arriving by air, land and sea.
The ministry said that although the world is facing multiple challenges — including geopolitical tensions, climate change, infectious diseases and cybercrime — Cambodia has managed to preserve peace, security and a stable social environment.
Authorities said the government, under Prime Minister Hun Manet, has worked closely with ministries, international partners and the private sector to strengthen security measures, including efforts to combat online scams and other crimes.
The ministry called on travelers, tourism operators and investors to continue visiting and promoting Cambodia globally, describing the country as a destination rich in cultural heritage, natural landscapes and hospitable people.
Cambodia is home to major attractions including Angkor Wat and other historical and cultural sites that continue to draw visitors from around the world.
