Singapore, Thailand discuss border situation, call for dialogue
CEBU, Jan 28, 2026 — Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan said on Wednesday that he held talks with Thailand’s Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow on regional developments, including the situation along the Thailand–Cambodia border.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Balakrishnan said the discussions also covered developments in Myanmar.
“I hope peace will prevail and both sides will be able to resolve their differences through dialogue and negotiations,” Balakrishnan said.
Singapore has repeatedly called for restraint and peaceful dialogue in addressing regional disputes, in line with ASEAN principles.
