Yala, Feb. 15, 2026 — Authorities in Thailand’s southern border provinces have raised security to the highest level after seven coordinated bomb attacks were reported in neighbouring Narathiwat over the past 48 hours, police said on Saturday.

No injuries were reported in the attacks, which occurred between Feb. 14 and 15, but security forces have intensified patrols and checkpoint inspections to prevent further unrest.

Pol Maj Gen Kong-at Suwannakham, commander of Yala Provincial Police, ordered officers to strengthen screening of suspicious individuals and vehicles and to increase vigilance at security posts.

The stepped-up measures come as authorities prepare for Chinese New Year celebrations and the upcoming Muslim holy month of Ramadan, periods that typically draw large public gatherings in the region.

Thailand’s southern border provinces have experienced intermittent insurgent violence for more than a decade, with sporadic bombings and attacks targeting security forces and civilian areas. Officials said security operations would remain heightened as investigations continue into the recent blasts.
