Thai Army Denounces Southern Attacks as Grave Breach of International Principles

Bangkok, 12 January 2026 — The Royal Thai Army has issued a strong condemnation of a series of coordinated bomb attacks targeting 11 fuel stations in southern Thailand, denouncing the assaults as inhumane acts that undermine peace and violate international principles of non-violence.

According to Thai media outlet Amarin, Army spokesperson Maj. Gen. Winthai Suvaree stated on Sunday that the attacks directly endangered civilian lives, property, and public infrastructure, and were deliberately intended to instill fear, provoke violence, and destabilize peace in the region.

The spokesperson emphasized that such acts constitute serious and intentional violations of the law, with grave consequences for public order and security. He stressed that violence in any form is unacceptable and cannot be justified as a means of resolving issues.

Thai authorities reaffirmed their commitment to strict law enforcement to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice in accordance with the law.

The attacks occurred late Saturday night into early Sunday across three southern provinces—Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. While no suspects have been arrested to date, Thai authorities have pointed to separatist groups as being behind the incidents.

In response, Thailand has imposed a night-time curfew from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. in affected southern areas and is considering additional security measures to maintain public safety and stability.
