Siem Reap, 15 December 2025 — The Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia has issued an urgent briefing on the latest developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border, reporting a serious escalation of hostilities by Thai armed forces.

According to the Ministry, at approximately 10:00 a.m. on 15 December 2025, Thai military units expanded the battlefield and launched an intense assault against Cambodian territory in Military Region 4, along the border area of Srei Snam District, Siem Reap Province. The attack involved the use of Thai F-16 fighter jets, which dropped two aerial bombs in close proximity to a civilian displacement camp sheltering internally displaced persons.

The Cambodian authorities emphasized that the airstrike occurred near a site housing civilians who had fled earlier violence, raising grave concerns over the safety of non-combatants and the continued escalation of military operations into civilian-populated areas.

The Ministry of National Defence reaffirmed that Cambodia is closely monitoring the situation and strongly condemned any actions that further endanger civilians, undermine regional stability, and violate the principles of international humanitarian law.
