Bangkok, 28 December 2025 — Thailand’s Election Commission officially commenced the registration of party-list candidates and prime ministerial nominees on Sunday, marking a significant procedural milestone in the lead-up to the general election scheduled for 8 February.

Representatives from 52 registered political parties convened at the Centara Life Government Complex Hotel in northern Bangkok to submit their respective party-list candidates and participate in the official drawing of identification numbers, which will be used in nationwide electoral campaigning.

The ballot draw, a key administrative step in the electoral process, assigned the following campaign numbers to several major political parties:

  • Pheu Thai Party: No. 9
  • United Thai Nation Party (Ruam Thai Sang Chart): No. 6
  • Bhumjaithai Party: No. 37
  • People’s Party (Prachachon): No. 46
  • Kla Tham Party: No. 42

Chairman of the Election Commission, Mr. Narong Klunwarin, confirmed that all 52 political parties completed registration before the 8:30 a.m. deadline. In accordance with electoral regulations, participating parties are also required to formally submit their nominees for the position of Prime Minister as part of the registration process.

The opening of party-list registration underscores Thailand’s ongoing preparations for the upcoming general election and reflects the Election Commission’s role in ensuring an orderly and transparent electoral process.
