Bangkok, Feb. 11, 2026 — Thailand has dropped nine places to 116th out of 182 countries in the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), with its score slipping to 33 out of 100 from 34 a year earlier, according to Transparency International.

The CPI measures perceived levels of public-sector corruption based on assessments by experts and business leaders. Scores range from 0, considered highly corrupt, to 100, very clean. The index draws on 13 independent data sources, including the World Economic Forum and the World Bank.

Thailand’s score of 33 places it well below the global average of 42. More than two-thirds of countries scored under 50 in 2025, reflecting what Transparency International described as a broader slowdown in anti-corruption efforts worldwide.

Within Southeast Asia, Singapore ranked third globally with 84 points, while Thailand placed fifth in the region. Myanmar ranked 169th with 16 points.

Denmark led the index with 89 points, followed by Finland with 88. Over the past decade, Thailand’s highest score was 38, recorded in 2014 and 2015, with limited progress since.
