Bangkok, 12 December 2025 — The King of Thailand has approved a royal decree dissolving the House of Representatives, thereby clearing the way for an early general election. The decision was reported by The Nation newspaper on Friday, 12 December 2025.

The royal approval followed an announcement by Prime Minister Anutin on Thursday, in which he declared the dissolution of Parliament ahead of schedule to allow for early elections. According to the statement issued by the Thai Royal Palace, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has endorsed the dissolution, and national elections are expected to be held within the next 45 to 60 days.
