The United States will provide $92 million in security, counter-scam, and Mekong cooperation funding to Thailand, as Washington welcomed a ceasefire along the Thai-Cambodian border and the release of 18 Cambodian soldiers.

The pledge includes $68 million in Foreign Military Financing, $10 million to combat online scam networks, and $14 million under the Mekong–U.S. Partnership.

Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow discussed the developments with Michael George DeSombre, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, during talks in Bangkok.

Both sides reaffirmed Thailand’s status as a Major Non-NATO Ally and discussed trade, critical minerals, ASEAN, and Myanmar.
