U.S. delivers $100,000 in medical aid to Cambodia border provinces
PREAH VIHEAR, Jan. 30 — The U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh said it had joined UNICEF Cambodia and local authorities this week to deliver $100,000 in medical supplies and equipment to Cambodia’s Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces, supporting families displaced by the Cambodia–Thailand border conflict.
The aid, delivered in coordination with the Preah Vihear Provincial Governor, includes U.S.-funded maternal health equipment and child nutrition tools aimed at assisting pregnant women, mothers and children living in temporary safety camps, the embassy said in a statement.
The United States said the assistance was part of its broader humanitarian response to support vulnerable communities affected by displacement and to help provide essential healthcare services in conflict-affected border areas.
Washington added that it would continue working with Cambodian partners to deliver lifesaving humanitarian support while strengthening bilateral ties and contributing to long-term peace and stability in the region.
