Wang Yi Tells Israel “Force Cannot Solve Iran Crisis”
BEIJING, March 4, 2026 — China called for an immediate halt to military operations against Iran during a phone conversation between Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Beijing said on Tuesday.
Wang told his Israeli counterpart that China opposes military strikes launched against Iran by Israel and the United States, warning that the use of force would not resolve underlying tensions and could trigger serious consequences.
“The use of force cannot truly resolve the issue and will instead bring new problems and grave repercussions,” Wang said, according to a Chinese foreign ministry readout of the call.
China urged all parties to cease military operations immediately to prevent the conflict from escalating further and spreading across the region.
The remarks come amid rising tensions in the Middle East following recent strikes on Iranian targets, raising fears of a wider regional conflict. Beijing has repeatedly called for restraint and diplomatic engagement to address disputes.
