69-Year-Old Australian Dies in Chon Buri Condo Fall

SI RACHA, 12 August 2026 — A 69-year-old Australian man has died after falling from the sixth floor of a condominium in Si Racha district, Chon Buri, early Tuesday, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

The man, identified by authorities as Andre Schuster, was found dead at about 6am on Aug. 11 at a condominium in Surasak subdistrict. He had reportedly been living alone at the building for less than a year.

Rescue workers and officers from Si Racha Police Station were called to the scene after a resident reported hearing a loud impact.

The resident, who was the first person to find Schuster, told police that he heard the sound and went onto his balcony, where he saw the Australian lying on a lower-level balcony area.

Schuster was found wearing blue sleepwear and had suffered multiple serious injuries, including broken arms and legs and a head injury. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also noted marks of paint or dust on his hands and the soles of his feet.

Investigators inspected the room where Schuster had been staying and found it in normal condition, with no apparent signs of a disturbance or struggle.

Police said their preliminary assessment was that the fall may have been intentional and could have been related to personal stress. The marks found on his hands and feet were considered potentially consistent with him climbing onto the balcony before the fall.

However, police have not reached a final conclusion regarding the circumstances of the death.

Schuster’s body was sent to Laem Chabang Hospital for a post-mortem examination, while investigators continue examining evidence and other circumstances surrounding the case.

Authorities said the exact cause of death and circumstances leading to the fall will be determined through the forensic examination and ongoing investigation.
