Pattaya Traffic-Light Crash Leaves Nine Injured, 10 Vehicles Damaged
PATTAYA, October 20, 2026 — Nine people were injured after a car allegedly driven by a fatigued motorist crashed into vehicles waiting at a traffic light, triggering a chain collision involving 10 vehicles in Pattaya late Monday night.
The crash occurred at approximately 11.30pm on October 19 at the Soi Photisan junction on Pattaya-Naklua Road in Na Kluea, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province. Several cars and motorcycles were badly damaged, police said.
Police Lieutenant Natchat Chanthakran, an investigating officer at Pattaya City Police Station, contacted Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya rescue volunteers to assist the injured.
Chain Collision at Traffic Lights
Wreckage from cars and motorcycles was scattered across the road as members of the public helped injured people from their vehicles.
The damaged vehicles included an MG ZS, a Honda Yaris, a grey Honda Giorno, a Vespa and a Honda Wave 125i. Several other vehicles were also involved, bringing the total to 10.
Police identified the vehicle believed to have triggered the collision as a Haval H6 driven by a 28-year-old man named Denchai. He sustained minor injuries and remained at the scene to speak with officers.
A witness told police that vehicles had been waiting at a red light when the Haval approached at speed without appearing to brake. It struck the rear of the waiting vehicles, pushing cars and motorcycles into one another.

Driver Says He Fell Asleep
Denchai reportedly told police that he had been feeling tired before the crash and briefly fell asleep while driving. He said he could not regain control in time to avoid hitting the vehicles stopped at the junction.
CCTV footage from the area showed the Haval travelling at speed before colliding with vehicles waiting at the traffic light.
Police conducted an alcohol test on the driver, which returned a zero reading.

Investigation Underway
Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage, collecting evidence and taking statements from those involved before determining the next legal steps.
The investigation remains ongoing.
