Government’s Top Duty Is to Protect the People and Defend National Sovereignty, Cambodian PM Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia

Phnom Penh, 8 December 2025 — Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, reaffirmed on Monday that the foremost and immediate responsibility of the Royal Government of Cambodia is to protect the people and safeguard the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

In a public message posted on social media on the afternoon of 8 December 2025, Hun Manet underscored that national protection remains the government’s highest priority at a time of heightened regional tension.

He further called on all ministries, state institutions, authorities at every level, the armed forces, and the entire Cambodian population to stand united in solidarity, joining hands in defense of national interests and the homeland during this critical and challenging period.

His remarks reflect Cambodia’s firm stance on national unity, sovereignty, and stability, while emphasizing a coordinated, whole-of-nation approach to confronting current challenges through discipline, responsibility, and collective resolve.
