Between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM on 4 January 2026, an additional 25,407 displaced persons successfully returned to their places of residence. This latest development reflects ongoing national efforts to stabilize affected areas and restore normal living conditions for communities impacted by recent hostilities.

As of this update, out of a total of more than 640,000 people who were previously displaced, 242,267 individuals remain in temporary camps. This group includes 127,886 women and 78,907 children, underscoring the continued humanitarian priority placed on the protection of vulnerable populations.

The Royal Government of Cambodia remains fully committed to ensuring the safe, voluntary, and dignified return of all displaced persons, while continuing to provide humanitarian assistance and essential services to those who have yet to return home. Authorities are working closely with relevant ministries, local administrations, and humanitarian partners to accelerate resettlement efforts in accordance with safety and security conditions on the ground.
