Chinese Industrial Group Designates Cambodia as ASEAN Manufacturing Hub
Phnom Penh, 13 January 2026 — China’s Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holdings Group Co., Ltd. (GIIHG) has officially designated Cambodia as its ASEAN manufacturing base following the launch of its first overseas automobile tire factory.
The facility, operated by GIIHG subsidiary WANLI TIRE, is located in the Xin Bavet Special Economic Zone in Svay Rieng Province and represents an investment of nearly USD 300 million. Construction was completed within one year, with initial production capacity reaching six million tires annually, expected to double to 12 million units by the end of 2026.
The highly automated plant has created more than 600 jobs and will serve as a strategic hub for production, supply and distribution to global markets.
GIIHG Chairman Jing Guangjun said Cambodia will anchor the group’s ASEAN expansion, supporting research, manufacturing and services across more than 160 markets. Cambodian officials cited strong investor confidence, regional market access and policy stability as key factors behind the investment.
