PHNOM PENH, Jan 18, 2026 — Cambodia had 46,000 factories and enterprises employing more than 2.14 million workers as of December 2025, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training said.

Ministry spokesperson Sun Mesa said the enterprises span key sectors including agriculture (386), industry (7,565), handicrafts and small manufacturing (4,964) and the garment sector (1,867).

Sun Mesa said the steady increase in factories and businesses reflects growing investor confidence in the Cambodian government’s policies, particularly in developing a skilled workforce.

He added that Cambodia currently has more than 80,000 job vacancies available nationwide for people seeking employment.

The ministry urged job seekers — especially returning migrant workers — to contact its 1297 employment hotline, which operates seven days a week, for job-matching and support services.
