China praises Cambodia cooperation on cross-border scam crackdown

BEIJING, Jan 20, 2026 — China’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday that China and Cambodia have achieved notable results in joint efforts to combat cross-border technology-enabled fraud, underscoring close law enforcement cooperation between the two countries.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said Beijing places high priority on the safety of Chinese citizens overseas and has worked actively with Cambodian authorities in recent months. He added that the Chinese embassy in Cambodia remains in close communication and coordination with Cambodian counterparts to advance related operations.
