Anutin rejects claims of political retaliation in doctor’s firing
BANGKOK, Jan 26, 2026 — Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on Monday denied allegations that the dismissal of a senior public health doctor was politically motivated, saying the decision was an internal matter of the Ministry of Public Health.
Anutin said government flood compensation in Hat Yai had been approved by the cabinet and was being paid based on actual damage, with payments capped at 49,000 baht ($1,400) per household. He said there had been no political interference in the doctor’s removal.
