Cambodia Highlights Cross-Border Digital Solutions in Talks With Georgia
Phnom Penh, Feb. 13, 2026 — Cambodia showcased its digital payment and document verification platforms during high-level talks with Georgian officials, as the Southeast Asian nation seeks to expand its fintech footprint internationally.
During a meeting with representatives of the National Bank of Georgia, Cambodian officials presented the verify.gov.kh digital verification platform and the Bakong system, a blockchain-based payment infrastructure developed by the National Bank of Cambodia.
Cambodia’s Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Chea Vandeth, said the platforms are aligned with the government’s digital transformation strategy and are designed to streamline payments and enhance secure document verification.
Officials said Bakong currently connects Cambodia’s financial ecosystem and supports cross-border transactions with 10 countries across Asia.
Representatives from Georgia expressed interest in the potential adoption of Cambodia’s digital solutions, officials said, as both sides discussed expanding cooperation in financial technology and digital governance.
