Siem Reap Gains Global Attention After TripAdvisor Ranking

PHNOM PENH, March 4, 2026 — China’s ambassador to Cambodia congratulated Siem Reap after the province was ranked among Asia’s top cultural destinations for 2026 by global travel platform TripAdvisor.

Ambassador Wang Wenbin praised the recognition as a testament to Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage and Siem Reap’s status as a world-renowned center of history and tourism.

The northwestern province, home to the Angkor temple complex, was placed fifth in TripAdvisor’s list of Asia’s best cultural destinations, reflecting its continued appeal to international travelers.

Wang said the ranking highlighted Siem Reap’s growing visibility on the global tourism map and its important role in showcasing Cambodia’s cultural legacy to the world.

Tourism remains a key pillar of Cambodia’s economy, with Siem Reap serving as one of the country’s primary gateways for international visitors.
